Independent Living
For active seniors looking for a maintenance-free lifestyle. Learn more about independent living.
While amenities vary slightly by community, your monthly rent typically covers your apartment, all utilities (often including cable and Wi-Fi), housekeeping services, maintenance, scheduled transportation, and a robust calendar of social activities.
Absolutely! This is your home, and we want you to make it your own. We encourage residents to bring their favorite furniture, artwork, and keepsakes to personalize their space.
No. Independent living is for seniors who can manage their daily lives without assistance but want the convenience of community life. Assisted living provides additional support for daily tasks like bathing, dressing, and medication management.
Yes! We know that pets are family, too. Most of our independent living communities are pet-friendly. Be sure to ask the specific community director about the pet policy.
One of the benefits of choosing Wallick is our continuum of care. Many of our campuses, like Oakleaf Village and Meadow Valley, offer assisted living and memory care on the same campus. This allows you to transition to a higher level of support without leaving the community you love.
No. This is your home, and you are free to welcome guests whenever you like. We love seeing families and friends in our communities!
Not at all. Our activities calendar is there for you to enjoy as much or as little as you like. Whether you want to join every club or prefer quiet time in the library, the choice is entirely yours.
Yes. We offer scheduled transportation for shopping trips, medical appointments, and group excursions, so you can easily get where you need to go without the hassle of driving.
Assisted Living
For seniors who want independence with a little extra support. Learn more about assisted living.
Assisted living is a residential community for seniors who need help with daily tasks (like bathing or medication) but do not require constant medical attention. Nursing homes (skilled nursing facilities) are for individuals who need 24/7 medical care and monitoring.
Before you move in, our wellness director will meet with you for a personalized assessment. We discuss your health history, daily routines, and preferences to create a care plan that is tailored specifically to you.
Yes! We love keeping couples together. Even if one spouse needs more care than the other, you can share a suite. This allows you to stay together while ensuring both of you get the support you need.
Generally, Medicare does not cover the cost of room and board in assisted living. However, many families use Long-Term Care Insurance or the Veterans Aid & Attendance benefit to help offset costs. Some of our communities, like The Ashford, may have options regarding Medicaid waivers; we recommend contacting the specific community for financial guidance.
Most of our suites are unfurnished because we want you to make the space your own. We encourage you to bring your own furniture, photos, and decor to create a home that feels familiar and comfortable.
One of the advantages of Wallick is our ability to adapt. As your needs change, we can adjust your care plan to provide more support. Additionally, many of our campuses offer memory care, allowing for a smooth transition if specialized cognitive support becomes necessary.
You are welcome to continue seeing your own primary care physician. However, for added convenience, many of our communities partner with visiting physicians and specialists who can see you right in the comfort of your own apartment.
Absolutely! We pride ourselves on our dining program. Residents in assisted living enjoy three chef-prepared meals a day, served restaurant-style in our dining room. We can also accommodate most dietary restrictions and nutritional needs.
Memory Care (The Grove)
For individuals living with Alzheimer’s or dementia. Learn more about memory care.
Safety is our top priority. Our memory care neighborhoods are secured environments with keypad-entry doors and enclosed outdoor courtyards. This allows residents to move freely and explore their home without the risk of wandering.
Our memory care associates undergo specialized dementia care training that goes beyond standard medical care. They learn how to communicate effectively, manage behavioral expressions with empathy, and create “success-oriented” moments for residents.
Absolutely. We encourage family members to visit often! Maintaining connections with loved ones is a key part of our Genuine Wellness philosophy. We can also help guide you on the best times to visit based on your loved one’s daily routine.
While assisted living focuses on physical support for daily tasks, memory care provides a higher level of supervision and specialized programming for cognitive impairment. The environment is more secure, the staff ratio is typically higher, and the activities are specifically designed for those with dementia.
Yes. Our team is trained to view behavioral expressions as a form of communication. We work to identify the underlying unmet need—whether it’s pain, hunger, or boredom—and address it with compassion and non-pharmacological approaches whenever possible.
We generally provide unfurnished suites because we believe familiar items are crucial for comfort. Bringing a favorite chair, quilt, or dresser can help your loved one feel more grounded and at home in their new environment.
Respite Care
For short-term stays, recovery, and caregiver relief. Learn more about respite care.
Our respite stays typically require a minimum of two weeks. However, many guests choose to stay for a month or longer depending on their recovery needs or their caregiver’s schedule.
Yes! Unlike our long-term apartments, respite care suites come fully furnished with everything you need, including a bed, seating, television, and linens. It truly is a “suitcase-ready” experience.
Respite guests receive the same personalized care assessment as our permanent residents. Whether you need help with medication, bathing, or dressing, our team is there to support you 24/7.
Many of our communities are pet-friendly, even for short-term guests! We recommend calling the specific community to confirm their pet policy for respite stays.
We love when that happens! Many of our permanent residents started as respite guests. If you decide Wallick is the right fit, our team will work with you to transition seamlessly from a short-term guest to a full-time resident.
Dining & Nutrition
Fresh, chef-prepared meals are at the heart of our community. Learn more about our dining approach.
Yes. Our chefs are experienced in preparing meals that meet a variety of dietary requirements, including diabetic-friendly, low-sodium, and texture-modified diets. We work closely with residents to ensure their nutritional needs are met without sacrificing flavor.
While we offer three scheduled meals a day in our dining room, many of our communities also feature bistros or cafés for more flexible, casual dining options. In our independent living communities, you often have the flexibility to dine when it suits you best.
Absolutely. We believe that the best meals start with fresh ingredients. Our in-house culinary teams prepare soups, sauces, entrees, and desserts from scratch daily, ensuring a high-quality, restaurant-style experience.
Of course! We love it when families and friends join us. You are welcome to host guests in the main dining room or reserve a private dining space for special celebrations.
Wellness & Activities
Thriving, connecting, and enjoying life on campus. Learn more about wellness & activities.
Our calendar is packed with a diverse range of programs designed to engage the mind, body, and spirit. From fitness classes and walking clubs to art workshops, educational seminars, and off-campus excursions, there is something for everyone.
Participation is always your choice. You are free to be as active or as relaxed as you like. Our team is here to invite and encourage you, but we respect your privacy and independence.
Yes. We provide scheduled transportation for group outings to local shops, restaurants, and cultural events. Many communities also offer transportation for personal medical appointments.
We encourage it! Many of our most popular groups—from book clubs to card leagues—were started by residents who wanted to share their passions with neighbors. Our associates are happy to help you get started.
We love when that happens! Many of our permanent residents started as respite guests. If you decide Wallick is the right fit, our team will work with you to transition seamlessly from a short-term guest to a full-time resident.
